MANLOVE, BARTHOLOMEW (ca. 1776-?). Bartholomew Manlove was born in Delaware about 1776 and came to Texas from Kentucky on a passport dated April 2, 1832. On April 22, 1835, he was issued a grant of one league at the mouth of Cedar Creek in the original Bastrop County. He was a member of the Mina committee of safety and correspondence and was elected to represent Mina (Bastrop) in the Consultation of 1835 but is not recorded in the Consultation records as being present. Manlove served as mayor of Bastrop in 1838, 1842, and 1845, and was listed as a farmer in Bastrop County in 1850.
