KANOHATINO. Kanohatino (Ayano, Canoatinno, Quanoatinno) was a Caddoan designation of the Red River of Louisiana and perhaps also the Colorado River. A group of Canoatinnos is reported to have been met by the La Salle expedition near the Brazos or Colorado in 1687. They may have been a southern extension of Wichita Indians, for some of the La Salle party went with the Hasinais on a warring expedition against them.
