JABONCILLOS CREEK (Webb County). Jaboncillos (Jamoncillos) Creek, also known as Jabonoso Creek, rises thirteen miles northwest of Callaghan in north central Webb County (at 28°02' N, 99°32' W) and runs northeast for twenty miles to its mouth on Chucareto Creek, six miles northeast of Encinal in southern La Salle County (at 28°05' N, 99°15' W). It rises in rolling prairie and descends to flat terrain with locally shallow depressions. Soils in the area are clay and sandy loams that support mesquite, grasses, chaparral, and water-tolerant hardwoods.
