DAVIDSON, SAMUEL (?-?). Samuel Davidson, one of Stephen F. Austin's Old Three Hundred colonists, received the title to a sitio of land now in Brazos County on July 21, 1824. The grant is located on the Brazos River near Wellborn and includes Minter Springs. Although it is doubtful that he was the original colonist, a man named Samuel Davidson served in James Gillaspie's company in the Mexican War.
